The founder of estate agency Blundells has won a company award for the third year in a row.

Mike Blundell scooped the Residential Valuer of the Year accolade again at the company’s annual staff awards ceremony held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park Hotel.

The award, which is based on performance figures, was one of 17 presented to the Blundells workforce.

Mr Blundell, who oversees the Dronfield branch, said: “I still thoroughly enjoy my job after 30 years in the property market so I’m delighted to score a hat-trick win. It’s wonderful to have a trio of awards but I’m really proud of all the Blundells staff who have shown passion and dedication to their roles. It’s great to celebrate their achievements at an event like this.

“Blundells recently celebrated record breaking sales in December and Blundells Auction House in Sheffield also won the gold award for Best Franchise at the Estate Agent of the Year Awards in London. Our staff awards are a great way to round up a rewarding year in which we have done really well despite the difficult economic climate.”

Heather Leslie, who works at the Woodseats and Banner Cross branch was also celebrating after winning both the Employee of the Year and Manager of the Year titles for her exceptional contribution to the company.

The team at Woodseats collected the Branch of the Year prize and The Mortgage Cup, which recognises the best mortgage sign ups, was presented to the Chesterfield team.

The Auction Award, which is based on the number of leads generated by the branch office, was presented to the Blundells City Team. Lucy Crapper, senior auctioneer at Blundells Auction House, said: “It was a fantastic year for auctions throughout 2011 and in total we’ve sold more than £9m worth of property.

“This award is a great way to celebrate that success and has spurred us on to continue that success in 2012.”

Other accolades included the Professional Services Award, won by Chesterfield Lettings, the Best Newcomer Award, achieved by David Cooper from the support team, and the Mortgage Consultant of the Year award went to Sue Pope, from the Crystal Peaks branch.

Nine members of staff were also recognised for ten years service to Blundells, and Thelma Lees from the Firth Park branch, was rewarded for the 20 years at the company.
