Start-up company Rekless Snowsports is hoping to ride the wave of patriotism generated by the Diamond Jubilee and Olympic Games.

Sheffield firm Rekless has launched a range of British designed snowboards, emblazoned with the Union Flag and the Scottish Saltire.

Julian Potts, co-founder of the Attercliffe company, said: “Our team has worked tirelessly to launch a new brand of snowboards that is unashamedly British and reflects the passion and vision we have for winter sports.

“Our inaugural range combines modern English elegance with a raw adrenaline fix and has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from the global snowboarding community.”

Rekless has developed six boards aimed at people of all abilities, ranging from a youth board to what it describes as a high-performance “all mountain board”.

The company will be showcasing its boards at The Snowboard Test held in Austria in May and says boards will be available through South Yorkshire ski and snowboard retailers, Big Dick’s Board Store and Bennett’s Winter Sports, as well as through its website.
