Champion start for business cycle club

DOUBLE Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning cyclist Malcolm Elliott visited Rensburg Sheppards in Sheffield last week to mark the launch and first outing of its official cycle club.

The investment management company was joined by 50 local business people who recognised that professional networking is definitely not confined to the golf course and set up a cycle club for Sheffield business people to prove that cycling is good for the health of a business too!

The club has been established by Rensburg Sheppards director James Lanchbery, a keen cyclist himself, who knew there was demand for a networking club for people who wanted to get fit and healthy, whilst doing business at the same time. James now has a strong band of local business contacts as members, with the club planning to meet on the first Wednesday afternoon of every month at the firm's Napier Street offices.

James Lanchbery, director of Rensburg Sheppards, said: "It was really exciting to be joined by Malcolm Elliott on our first outing of the Rensburg Sheppards Cycle Club. Malcolm has won a number of gold medals and following retirement from the sport, he has returned to top level competitive racing and was therefore a real inspiration to our members. However, you don't need to be a professional cyclist to join us, as the networking is just as important. You can chat really easily on the bike and many professionals all over the world are finding that cycling is as good as golf in terms of making business contacts. We are encouraging anyone interested to come along!"
