Charity aspires to make links
CHARITY organisation Aspire Sheffield is strengthening its links with the city's business community after attracting the interest of leading law firm Irwin Mitchell.
The Hillsborough-based charity helps the homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded back into the workplace.
One of the ways it achieves that and helps fund future its work in the community is with the provision of a packing and mailing service.
Among the companies and organisations already working with Aspire Sheffield are Sheffield Hallam University, Veolia Environmental Services and The University of Sheffield. Hallam University Students' Union also recently signed up.
And now law firm Irwin Mitchell has also decided to use the service that says it cares just as passionately about its business clients as it does its employees.
"This is a major step forward for us as a charity because it proves that we are providing a high level of service to an increasing number of important clients," said Aspire director David Verity.
"We are always delighted to be able to say that we have never failed any of our customers and that everything is always mailed out efficiently and on time.
"With Veolia Environment Services we had to go through a strict process for approval and now we are on their list of national suppliers.
"The mailing service is very much at the centre of what we do – it costs us 16 every hour just to keep our doors open and this is just one of the ways that we both continue to support ourselves and to provide vital employment opportunities for people who would otherwise struggle to get back into the workplace."
