Dormer Tools heralds new era in South Yorkshire - AUDIO
One of the world's leading engineering names, Dormer Tools, has marked the beginning of a new era - with the opening of their multi-million pound site in South Yorkshire.
Fabrizio Resmini, President of the Dormer Tools Group, cut the ribbon to officially launch the world-class facility at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP), heralding the next step in the company's 100-year evolution.

Dormer Tools was founded in Sheffield in 1913 and has grown to become a global brand, with operations in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Their new premises at the AMP, between Rotherham and Sheffield, marks a step forward for the company, with the creation of a pioneering training room, a major research and development facility and an international export service to support emerging and developing markets.
It will be Dormer's key site for sales, both in the UK and around the world, particularly the Middle East, with more than 20million-worth of orders processed from the South Yorkshire base.
Nick Garner, Managing Director of Dormer Tools, said: "Our new facility is the commercial home for the Dormer UK sales company, but perhaps more importantly, we have the new training facility and productivity centre
"This will be where we can focus on the customer's application requirements, hold customer surgeries for their machining problems and train our staff and the staff of our customers.
"The facility will further our ultimate goal, which is to launch new products and offer productivity savings for end users and the industry in general.
"We also have the research and development centre for identifying, devising and delivering new products and new machining solutions, such as tools for machining composites, which is becoming more important in many of our focus industries."
Dormer Tools, now part of the global engineering corporation the Sandvik Group, has chosen to establish a base at the AMP because of the sites growing manufacturing expertise and its links with some of the world's biggest names.
The Advanced Manufacturing and Research Centre (AMRC) and the Factory of the Future, who have partners such as Boeing and Rolls Royce, are next door to Dormer and provide unique opportunities for collaboration on future projects.
Nick added: "It fits very nicely to be sat strategically on a site which is dedicated to the advance of manufacturing within Britain. The overall site, the relationship with our partners next door and the philosophy of Dormer's strategy moving forward of how we want to go to market, is married up with the same philosophy for which this park was developed.
"The historic links, matching philosophies, local expertise, skill base and intellectual capital is already at the AMP. It is becoming a cauldron of engineering development, for today and for tomorrow, but also with the ultimate aim of being first for the next development."
