Helmut Rheingans, Steve Wise, Stuart Wade and Trefor Griffith first came together to provide music for an Appalachian dance group based in Bakewell, Derbyshire. Since then they have gone on to play concerts, barn dances and festivals all around central England.
The musicians characterise their music as Folk/Americana - string band music from the Appalachian Mountains.
"Anyone who has heard George Clooney and the 'Soggy Bottom boys' from 'Oh brother' will have heard this kind of music," said Steve Wise, who plays octave mandolin, guitar and contributes with vocals in the band.
Pete Petersen, member of US string band the Orpheus Supertones as praised the Bakwell band's new record
"A very enjoyable CD. Good choice of songs, well-sung and well-played," Petersen wrote in Orpheus Supertone.
