ITM Power and Revolve ready for hydrogen future

GREEN energy company ITM Power and automotive technology business Revolve Technologies have joined forces to accelerate the arrival of green house gas free cars on Britain's roads.

Atlas Way-based ITM Power is behind revolutionary technology that allows electricity generated by renewable sources like solar cells, wind turbines and wave generators to be used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.

Meanwhile, Revolve has come up with a conversion kit that allows a conventional internal combustion engine to run on hydrogen as well as petrol.

The two companies have now signed a ground-breaking agreement to jointly promote each others' systems, offering organisations, keen to switch to a 'green' transport solution, the opportunity to acquire fleets of vehicles and the equipment to refuel them.

ITM's chief executive, Dr Graham Cooley, said: "The combination of ITM's high pressure refueller unit and Revolve's elegant solution for hydrogen internal combustion engines, provides a very pragmatic way to introduce low carbon vehicles which can be implemented immediately.

"We are very pleased to be working with Revolve."

The collaboration will include joint marketing of refuelling infrastructure and vehicles, and formalisation of "joint bid" documentations.

John Mitchell, Managing Director of Revolve Technologies said: "We are delighted to further extend our relationship with ITM Power and enter into an agreement to jointly market each other's complementary products, that we believe offers a truly low carbon transport solution"

ITM Power has developed a range of materials and technology to reduce the cost of hydrogen production, via electrolysis. The company is developing equipment to convert renewable energy to a clean fuel; storing the energy as green hydrogen for decarbonising transport, industrial and residential applications.

Revolve Technologies serves a diverse portfolio of multi-tier automotive and non-automotive clients across a broad spectrum of industries including car and commercial vehicle, transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, defence and energy.
