Little Boots and Noisettes to play free music festival
Chart stars Little Boots and the Noisettes are among acts who will be performing in a free music festival in Sheffield in July.
Sheffield Music City, which kicks-off on Saturday July 25 and runs for three days, will see its Devonshire Green main stage graced by the pair.
Preston, formerly of the Ordinary Boys, will also be appearing.
Making his debut as a solo artist, Preston will perform tracks from his new album, Whatever Forever.
The festival has been created by Sheffield City Council who, working in partnership with Tramlines and Hallam FM, hopes to put the city on the music- festival map.
Cllr Roger Davison, cabinet advisor for Culture, Sport and Tourism, said: "The festival's main stage offers mainstream pop acts that everyone can enjoy.
"We are so pleased to offer this as a free event, thanks to grant funding and the hard work and generosity of our partners and sponsors. We are talking to local residents to make sure that the festival considers the needs of people that live in the city centre."
Simon Monk, programme director at Hallam FM, who are sponsoring the event, said: "We're pleased with the acts that are confirmed so far, and excited about what will be an amazing day for everybody. We'll be announcing more acts over the next few weeks."
The festival is part of Sheffield's Re:Defining the City - a campaign celebrating the city through promotion of its history and culture.
