WANdisco on move to city

WANdisco, a leading provider of distributed software development solutions, are moving their European centre from London to Sheffield – with the aid of Creativesheffield's Business Investment team.

With headquarters based in Silicon Valley, alongside the likes of Google, and offices in Tokyo, WANdisco is a global company bringing expertise, jobs and worldwide connections to the city. This fantastic inward investment is further evidence that Sheffield has become a leading centre of creative and digital expertise.

David Richards, Chief Executive at WANdisco, commented: "We are very excited about our move to Sheffield. We will be initially based at the Technology Park and our aim is to move to Electric Works which is a purpose-built 21st Century facility where we will be surrounded by like minded people and businesses – providing an environment in which WANdisco can thrive. This will also enable us to capitalise on partnership opportunities. Sheffield's reputation for creative and digital industries is growing rapidly and we are glad to be maximising on this."

James Wilson, Investment Manager at Creativesheffield who helped with the move and the sourcing of the premises, added: "This investment is great news for Sheffield's Creative and Digital industry. WANdisco will initially create five high quality jobs within the city - with this number increasing to a possible 50. We hope other businesses will follow suit to make Sheffield a real hub in this sector. WANdisco supply some very influential companies such as Motorola - further leveraging Sheffield's global visibility."

David Richards concluded: "We are very grateful to Creativesheffield for their on-going support and look forward to working with them in the future."
