MPs meet staff hit by Remploy threat

CITY MPs Paul Blomfield and Clive Betts were due to visit Remploy Sheffield yesterday to meet disabled workers whose jobs are at risk.

Unions GMB and Unite are campaigning against the threatened closure of 54 factories with a threat to 2,500 jobs as a result of a withdrawal of Government funding. They say making uniforms for armed forces, emergency services and medical staff, and supplying schools, would keep the factories busy.
