New dean for Sheffield Business School

Prof David Oglethorpe has been appointed Dean of Sheffield University Management School.

He joined in July 2012 and has taught the Sheffield MBA’s module in managerial economics and masters-level research methods.

He has an undergraduate honours degree in agricultural economics and a PhD in environmental economics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

His research interests focus on environmental sustainability and he is involved in various interdisciplinary cross-faculty research initiatives, particularly related to food production and the water agenda.

The school is Triple Crown accredited.

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has added to the litigation expertise in its Sheffield office with the appointment of solicitor Linda Roberts.

Arriving at the firm from Heatons in Manchester, Linda has expertise in landlord and tenant disputes, dilapidations, breach of covenants and possession claims.

Linda is another addition to the firm’s commercial litigation team, which received number one rankings in the Chambers and Legal 500 independent directories towards the end of the last year.
