Dozens of new jobs will be created when a major retailer opens another store in a Sheffield retail park.
The B&M store is due to open its doors at Drake House Retail Park, Drakehouse, later this month, bringing with it 80 new jobs.
The finishing touches are currently being made to the 23,000 sq feet store which is due to open on Friday, July 25.
Store bosses are now searching for a deserving member of the public to officially open the new shop and be a VIP for the morning.
The lucky person will also receive £250 worth of vouchers to spend in the store.
B&M bosses are looking for a community hero who goes that extra mile and has made a difference to the area.
They could make life better for people in the city, work hard for a particular cause, or be renowned for their charity work.
Nominations can be sent in by family, friends or colleagues.
Karena Hodgson. manager of the new store, said: “We wanted a true VIP to officially open our new store and what better way than to ask customers to nominate those who make a real difference to people’s lives in and around Sheffield.
“We’re not judging by age or the type of support, we just want someone who goes that extra mile and who we can give something back to for a change.”
Nominations are being accepted until this Friday, July 18.
They can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to Sheffield Drakehouse Local Hero Search, B&M Retail, Dakota Drive, Estuary Commerce Park, Speke, Liverpool L24 8RJ.
B&M was formed in 1978. From its first store in Blackpool, Lancashire, it has grown to more than 380 stores –including four others in Sheffield – and now employs 17,000 staff.
In Sheffield, B&M stores can also be found in the city centre, Meadowhall Retail Park, Hillsborough and Meersbrook.
