Now that’s what you call a charity drive

A local car dealership has gone the extra mile for The Children’s Hospital Charity by handing over the keys to two cars.

Lookers (Kia) Sheffield made the donation as part of the Make it Better appeal to transform the hospital. The charity-branded motors will allow the fundraising team to meet supporters across Sheffield, Yorkshire and even further afield.

“We are only too aware of the vital work carried out at The Children’s Hospital and the need for local businesses to help support this worthwhile charity” said Ian Wilson, general manager, left, with fundraiser Tchad Western and David Cheng of Kia.

Director of The Children’s Hospital Charity, David Vernon Edwards said: “On behalf of the entire charity team I would like to thanks Lookers for their extremely generous donation.

“The ability to go and meet our supporters in their location is a crucial part of our fundraising which is essential in maintaining and transforming the hospital.

“These cars, which you may see out and about with Theo on the side, allow us to promote our charity wherever we go and reduce the cost of getting there significantly – so thank you Lookers.”

The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield, is one of only four stand-alone children’s hospitals in the UK and is considered a centre of excellence in many areas including neuroscience. It currently accommodates more than 245,000 patient visits each year from across Yorkshire, the UK and the rest of the world.
