Keith Shivers has been appointed regional director of VINCI Construction UK Limited.
Based at the company’s office on Queen Street, Sheffield, he takes on responsibility for all VINCI Construction UK building activities in Yorkshire and the surrounding area, reporting in directly to managing director of the Northern Building Region, Chris Hamer.
VINCI Construction UK has several high profile construction projects currently on site in the region, including nine Building Schools for the Future (BSF) projects in Sheffield with a combined project value of £170 million. A further four BSF schemes, totalling an additional £62 million, are due to start on site this year. Elsewhere in the region, the company is on site with an impressive 750-bed, £22 million student accommodation project in Nottingham. Also in Nottingham, the construction of a £10m multi-storey car park for Network Rail is about to begin.
Mr Shivers said: “VINCI Construction UK Ltd is part of VINCI, a world leader in construction and concessions with a turnover of €33 billion and a presence in 100 countries around the world. The opportunity to be involved with a company of such standing on a regional level is a real honour and I am delighted to have joined a company so clearly focused on the opportunities that Yorkshire and the region can offer.
“There is already a very talented and experienced team in place within the region and I am looking forward to working with them to drive growth and development on both a regional and national basis.”
