Marco Pierre White is a name that’s familiar across the UK, but the company behind the celebrity chef’s new Sheffield restaurant signage is all home grown.

Marco’s New York Italian is due to open on March 24 within the Hampton by Hilton Hotel on West Bar. But instead of using a national company to design and fit the window branding, the contract went to Attercliffe-based We Are Chic Ltd.

Sales manager Melanie Jackson secured the job and the design team has been working on it since November. They came up withthe concept, designed the signs and finally fitted them.

Director Hussain Shafique said: “This move is a positive step when it comes to larger companies supporting small businesses and I hope to see more of it in the future… we’re ecstatic to be able to showcase our talents in such a prestigious setting.”

The bespoke signage, bearing the Marco’s logo, is made of Contra Vision, which enables diners to see out but prevents passers-by from looking in.
