Bollywood dancers got the party started at the launch of a new Indian takeaway and diner on Ecclesall Road.
Aim to Dance performed a classic Bollywood style routine to get people in the celebratory mood for the opening of Abdul’s.
They also led free workshop sessions for passers-by while samples of authentic Indian dishes were handed out.
In addition, some 400 balloons were launched into the sky, each holding a special tag which, when redeemed, will entitle the finder to a free meal at the diner.
Abdul’s manager Laurence Nair said: “We wanted to bring something completely different to the streets of Sheffield to mark our launch – this is a momentous occasion for us, so a fusion of colour and taste is perfect. We wanted a real party atmosphere and something that people can come and get involved with.
“We are not your typical late night takeaway, we use authentic ingredients and spices to create our full range of delicious dishes.”
