David the Staffy crossbreed is hoping a new year means a new start.

The cute one-year-old pup is currently being cared for at the RSPCA Sheffield branch, along with numerous other dogs and cats in need of new loving owners.

Acting general manager for the branch Tony Benham, says he hopes someone will take the time to visit David to see about helping him start afresh in 2015.

Tony said: “David is a pleasant tan and black Staffy crossbreed who is a medium to smallish size and who bubbles with love and life. He was rescued by an animal welfare officer and brought to our centre so that we could rehabilitate him and find him the caring new home he deserves.

“When he first came to the centre, David was very timid and he took a while to get to know the staff at the centre. But now that he has come out of his shell, he is a bright, bubbly youngster who loves to be around people.”

RSPCA staff caring for David say he would be best suited to a home where people already have some experience with dogs, or who have plenty of time to dedicate to David’s learning and his confidence building.

They also say a home with children over the age of 13 would be preferred for David and a home with another canine companion may be a possibility, pending a meet and greet.

As with all the animals adopted from the centre, David, who has no known health problems, is neutered, inoculated, vet- and dental-checked and he will leave with one month’s free pet insurance.
