THESE three kings – new permanent fixtures at Sheffield Cathedral – will shine at events marking an ancient feast day.
The metal statues, created by artist Brian Fell, joined the cathedral’s crib scene after been unveiled last week.
They are to be used to mark the Epiphany Christian feast day, long associated with the wise men at the birth of Jesus.
Gillian Cooper, administrator at the cathedral, said: “We have a service called the Epiphany procession on January 29 where the choir will sing music in a procession around the cathedral and that’s when we will really focus on the wise men.”
The Friends of Sheffield Cathedral, and Sheffield Churchburgesses Trust, paid for the statues.
