A BUSY Sheffield road was left in chaos after a dustbin lorry collided with a tram.
Passengers were left waiting at bus and tram stops for almost an hour after the Veolia lorry hit a Supertram on Langsett Road.
The Volvo lorry made a right turn from Victor Street at about 10am on Tuesday and hit the tram, bound for Halfway, on its driver’s side.
Police diverted traffic and passengers boarded replacement buses to continue their journey.
No tram passengers were injured, but paramedics treated the driver for shock at the scene.
The Supertram spokeswoman said they would help police with their inquiries and will also carry out their own internal investigation.
A Veolia spokeswoman said the firm were also conducting their own investigation.
