Dementia charity Lost Chord will also benefit from Escafeld Chorale’s Christmas Concert at All Saints Parish Church, Ecclesall, on Tuesday.

The South Yorkshire charity provides vital interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres across the region.

Ian Roberts is the new musical director of Escafeld Chorale, the mixed choir of around 80 members which has been an established part of the Sheffield music scene since 1969.

The concert will include a mixture of music and readings - some familiar, some less well known - rounded off by seasonal refreshments.

Tickets on the door or via 2369548 or email ann.kingdom@googlemail.com

St Luke’s Hospice will be the beneficiary from Vivacity Choir’s Christmas Concert at Ecclesall Parish Church, Ringinglow Road, on Saturday.

Included in the programme will be two pieces in which the community choir will be joined by newcomers who were given the opportunity to sing at a couple of recent rehearsals with a view to joining in the future. Tickets at £7/ £4 from 0871 2200260
