Caring residents and colleagues are brewing-up today for one of the biggest events in the fundraising calendar – the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

During the day numerous coffee and cake events will be taking place at homes, work places and community venues across South Yorkshire, to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

An impressive £125,000 was raised by big-hearted Sheffielders through last year’s mass brew-up.

This year Macmillan hopes that combined efforts by residents and employees across the South Yorkshire region will help to raise £250,000 for the charity.

Rob Turner, Macmillan fundraising manager for Sheffield and Chesterfield, said: “For every coffee morning which raises £203 that can fund one whole day of a Macmillan nurse so the more people who get involved the more people affected by cancer we can support.”
