People are being urged to nominate unsung heroes from across Yorkshire for a prestigious award.

St John Ambulance is calling for nominations for its Everyday Heroes awards – an annual event celebrating the nation’s lifesavers.

After a record number of nominations last year, the first aid charity is asking the public to get in touch and tell them about friends, family members, businesses, colleagues and even strangers, who have saved lives or championed first aid.

Sue Killen, chief executive at St John Ambulance, said: “The St John Ambulance Everyday Heroes awards give us a chance to celebrate and honour ordinary people who’ve done extraordinary things.”

Finalists will be invited to an awards ceremony in London on July 1.

Visit www.sja.org.uk/everydayheroes to nominate. The deadline for entries is 5pm on February 28.
