Charity shop appeals for Christmas helpers

A Sheffield charity shop is appealing for volunteers to help out over Christmas.

The British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical Store, on Arundel Gate in the city centre, is appealing for new helpers over the festive period.

Chris Ward, area manager, said: “Our volunteers are at the heart of the charity and we simply wouldn’t be able to continue our life-saving work without them.

“We have thousands of volunteers who use the spare time they have since retiring to volunteer and give something back to the local community, as well as bringing their wealth of knowledge, life skills and expertise to their role.

“Our volunteers can not only use and develop the skills they already have, but can also keep their foot on the career ladder, work towards qualifications and gain some excellent work experience.

“We appreciate every minute people can spare and offer a range of opportunities which can help them find a new challenge.”

Roles include sales and administration assistants, to warehouse work.
