City artist gets big TV break

CHARACTERS created by a Sheffield artist will be brought to life on the television screen.

Zebra Face, the animated series from Kid Acne, will be shown on Channel 4’s series Random Acts at 12.05am on Friday.

The instalment is the first of five which will be shown on air.

Malawi-born Kid Acne, who lives and works in Sheffield, premiered Zebra Face at a special event at Tramlines festival last weekend. Episodes feature the voices of Sheffield legend and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker and This is England actress Rosamund Hanson.

The animation, created by Kid Acne and Supreme Vagabond Craftsman, began life as a comic book in 1995.
