HOT community issues were up for debate when Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg held a question-and-answer session with constituents.
Mr Clegg took part in the event at the Hallam FC clubhouse on Sandygate Road, Crosspool.
Around 50 people attended, including representatives from Crosspool Forum.
Mr Clegg spoke to local residents with newly-elected Lib Dem councillor Rob Frost, who represents Crookes ward which includes the suburb.
Coun Frost has been supporting a campaign to save nearby Bole Hill Dementia Centre from the council’s closure plan.
Mr Clegg said: “Getting out of the Westminster bubble and talking to residents about the issues that are important to them is vital. So these kind of public meetings are extremely useful.”
The Sheffield Hallam MP added: “We covered a wide range of issues, from the state of local roads and bus services to the national economy.
“As the local MP I’m keen to help where I can whatever the issue. But listening to ordinary people’s concerns also helps shape policy in Government.”
