PUPILS from 45 schools around South Yorkshire showed off their engineering talents to Nick Clegg.
The Deputy Prime Minister chatted to youngsters and their teachers during the exhibition at City College, and praised them for their innovative creations.
His tour of the event included trying out a table football set featuring goal line technology made by Bradfield School Year 10 pupils Mason Burkinshaw, Nathan Bailey and Adam Hirst.
Paul Johannson, head of engineering at Bradfield, said: “They had a few questions for Nick, too. The first was whether he was a Blade or an Owl! His answer was pretty diplomatic - saying he could not support either because he would not want it to be something in the way of his work with constituents who support either of the teams.”
College Principal Julie Byrne said: “The event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase talent of the future.”
