A man tricked his way into the home of an elderly Sheffield woman by asking if she’d take part in a survey.
The 93-year-old pensioner was targeted on Bocking Lane, Beauchief.
Police said she answered the door to a man called ‘Steve’ who asked if she would take part in a survey.
She let him in and went to fetch him a glass of water and after he left she realised her purse was missing.
The man was in his early twenties, of medium build and wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
He had short, fair hair and was clean-shaven.
Police said he was ‘well spoken’ and had a dressing on his left hand.
The incident happened at 5.55pm on Friday, October 3.
