Appeal fails in city murder case

Ryan Ward, who was jailed for life for killing neighbour Craig Wass with a brick when he acted as a peacemaker in a dispute in Philips Road, Loxley, where they both men lived, has lost an appeal to overturn his murder conviction.

Three senior judges took less than an hour to rule his case ‘unarguable’.

Ward, now aged 24, was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years in prison in 2009.
