THE mother of Sheffield-born Ben Needham, who was a toddler when he vanished on the Greek island of Kos 21 yeas ago, has vowed to continue looking for her son after a police search for his remains failed to find anything.

Kerry Grist, aged 40, was speaking after a South Yorkshire Police search team returned to Britain after digging up a field next to where Ben was playing when he disappeared in 1991 when he was 21 months old.

Mrs Grist said: “It’s just something that needed to be done, I didn’t believe he was there for one minute. We can now concentrate on opening another campaign, a worldwide search again.

“I have always believed he is out there somewhere. It’s difficult because the world is a very big place but with the help of the media and the internet, it’s just a case of keep getting that message out now to someone, to him himself.”

Mrs Grist believes her son was abducted, to be sold for legal adoption.
