Buses seized in force operation

SEVEN minibuses were seized by police during a day of checks after they were found to be on the roads with incorrect insurance.

Derbyshire Police carried out the checks in Shirebrook.

Sergeant Matt Troth said: “We carried out the operation in response to concerns from the community and as a reminder to drivers about their responsibilities to ensure they are properly insured, have the correct licence and their vehicles are roadworthy.

“It is hoped we will carry out further checks.”
