Fire crews deal with car blazes

FIREFIGHTERS in Sheffield were called to a series of blazes involving cars.

The first incident yesterday involved a BMW 320 which was set alight on Ironside Road, Gleadless Valley, where it was parked outside its owner’s house.

It went up in flames at 1.25am.

At 2am, firefighters were alerted to a blaze on Periwood Avenue, Norton, where a Fiat Punto went up in flames after developing a fault.

And at 3.35am a Renault Scenic caught fire after developing an engine fault as it was travelling along Silkstone Road, Frecheville.

A classic Mini found burning on Adlington Road, Southey Green, Sheffield, had been set alight.
