TWO hooded thugs are being hunted by police after a knifepoint robbery on a South Yorkshire street.
Police have issued e-fits of the thugs who ambushed a terrified teenager near a bus stop on Wingfield Road, close to the junction with Swale Road, Wingfield, Rotherham.
They demanded the 18-year-old’s wallet and, when he refused, one produced a knife from his waistband.
The other rifled through the victim’s pockets and stole his BlackBerry phone.
Both robbers were white, early 20s and slim. One was 6ft tall and wore a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms, with small red Nike ticks. The other was around 5ft 10 in a black hooded top, jeans and white trainers.
Witnesses to the robbery at 5.15pm on New Year’s Day should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference 1379 of January 1. Crimestoppers can also be contacted on 0800 555 111.
