A DRIVER has suffered head injuries and a dislocated shoulder after another motorist drove straight at him in Sheffield, throwing him onto a car bonnet, smashing its windscreen, and leaving him in the road.

The two men - the victim in a blue Transit van, his attacker in a silver VW - became involved in a row on Herries Road near Shirecliffe.

But when the man in the blue Transit van got out of his vehicle to speak to the car driver, the other motorist accelerated straight towards him.

The van driver was thrown onto the bonnet of the other man’s car, smashing its windscreen, before falling to the ground.

The impact as he landed caused head injuries and left him with a dislocated shoulder.

The silver VW Bora car was later found in Fir View Gardens, Pitsmoor - and police want to hear from anyone who saw the car or its driver.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers also want to speak to the driver of a blue private hire cab, and two Good Samaritan Asian males, who stopped to help the injured van driver.

The incident happened on Tuesday, July 24, at around 4.10pm.

Anyone with information about the VW car, its driver, or the incident is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 805 July 24. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
