Man charged with murder over shooting in Sheffield

A second man has been charged over a fatal shooting in Sheffield.

He is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

Ahmed was one of two suspects arrested earlier this week over the death.

The other man, a 29-year-old, who was quizzed on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, has been released on bail.

Asif Yousaf, who turns 33 this month, of Violet Bank Road, Nether Edge, was charged with murder earlier in the police investigation.

He is remanded in custody.

Mr Thomas was the passenger in a silver Ford Mondeo which was shot at while stationary at a set of traffic lights at the junction of Derek Dooley Way and the Sheffield Parkway on December 22.

The driver of the vehicle was also shot but survived the gun attack.

Mr Thomas, from Firshill, Sheffield, was rushed to hospital but could not be revived.
