Man suffers fractured cheekbone in attack on Sheffield street

A man was left with a fractured cheekbone by three men who kicked and punched him on a Sheffield street.

The 48-year-old was walking along Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley, when he was approached by three men who asked him for a lighter.

He handed it over and one of the men threw it to the ground.

When the victim attempted to pick it up he was attacked.

He was targeted at 8pm on Saturday, March 14.

The culprits were all white and aged between 19 and 22 years old.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated and later released.

“Officers are appealing for witnesses regarding this incident.”
