Police have released CCTV footage of a man they want to trace over a spate of bicycle thefts in Rotherham.

In the latest incident a white GT Velocity bike, worth around £400, was taken after it was left locked up outside TSC on Manvers Way on Thursday, July 25.

The offender cut the lock from the bike before riding away on it.

South Yorkshire Police said there has been a spate of incidents in the Dearne area.

A spokesman said: “Following reports of recent bicycle thefts in the Dearne area of Rotherham, police have released a CCTV image of a man they hope may be able to assist with their investigation.

“Police in Rotherham would like the public to be aware that there are bike thieves operating in the Dearne area, and encourage people to report any suspicious behaviour.”
