Police patrols at car parks

POLICE patrols have been stepped up at rural Peak District car parks as part of a campaign to reduce crime.

Officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have joined forces with South Yorkshire Police to visit car parks around Stanage Edge, Ringinglow and Hathersage.

Patrols last Friday and Saturday form part of Operation Python, which is being run to target car crime at beauty spots in the area.

Advice on vehicle security was also offered to motorists.
