A Sheffield man who advertised a waste disposal service on Facebook has been fined for fly-tipping.

Liam Butcher, aged 25, of Folds Crescent, Beauchief, appeared before city magistrates after waste dumped in the city was examined and traced back to a woman in Cecil Square, Sharrow, who told Sheffield Council she had given the rubbish to Butcher after spotting an advert on Facebook.

Butcher pleased guilty and was fined £600 by the bench, ordered to pay £478 in costs to the council and £628 in compensation for clean-up charges.

He was also ordered to pay £180 in court costs.
