THIS home CCTV picture shows the moment thieves stole a parcel left in a man’s bin for safety by a courier.

The pair were caught on camera by Jeff Gibson, aged 65, as they took the Christmas package and drove off.

The parcel had been placed in the recycling bin by a courier to keep it safe as Jeff was not at home – and the two men were seen acting suspiciously nearby before leaving.

They returned to take the box, which contained a candle gift worth about £15, from the blue recycling bin.

Jeff, of Seagrave Road, Gleadless, is now warning other householders not to let couriers leave goods outside their properties in the run up to Christmas.

He said: “If people are getting things delivered they need to ask for them to be left with a neighbour rather than outside because it is not safe.”
