A Sheffield man has been arrested as part of a counter terrorism probe.
The 38-year-old Heeley man was among five arrested by the North East Counter Terrorism Unit yesterday morning on suspicion of fraud.
Police swooped as part of an investigation into alleged fraud by a purported Syrian aid charity.
Two men, aged 32 and 53, from Halifax, were also arrested along with two men, aged 33 and 43, from Dewsbury.
A Counter Terrorism Unit spokesman said the arrests formed ‘part of an ongoing fraud investigation involving charitable funds’.
