Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a former Sheffield lawyer.

Richard Wheeler, aged 73, and his wife Grace, 69, were found dead at their home in Carnbee, on the Caribbean island of Tobago last week.

Mr Wheeler worked as a lawyer in Sheffield and had lived in Tobago for the last 16 years.

Police said Mrs Wheeler was found slumped on the lawn outside the couple’s home with a cut to her neck, while her husband was found inside with wounds to his arms and the back of his head.

Andre Romeo, 29, from Tobago, and Naajip Hills, 23, from St Vincent, appeared before a magistrates’ court in Tobago where they were remanded in custody until November 24.
