Dan on the run for hospital

DAN Kirkland is planning to run more than 100 miles to his mum – from Sheffield to Peterborough – next month to thank the Children’s Hospital for caring for daughter Lauren when she had a meningitis scare.
“Thankfully, she was fine but it was very scary and painful at the time,” he said. “The Children’s Hospital staff were fantastic and cared for both the children and the parents.”
Inspired by comedian Eddie Izzard’s Marathon of Marathons, Dan, aged 38, of Crosspool, is aiming to complete four marathons in four days. He has already raised over £1,300 to be shared between The Children’s Hospital Charity and The Multiple Sclerosis Trust.
