SHEFFIELD cancer survivor and charity campaigner Danny Porter is due to be back on his bike today (Thursday).
With friends from his charity, the Danny Porter Foundation, and Wakefield Chantry Rotary Club, he aims to cycle over 200 miles from Wakefield to London in three days. Thirty cyclists hope to raise more than £20,000 to be split between Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and Wakefield’s Second Chance Headway Centre.
Seven years ago Danny had a rare form of cancer that resulted in the loss of most of the bone structure in the right-hand side of his face. Following surgery, he launched the foundation, which has raised £70,000 through bike rides, marathons, rugby matches and parachute jumps.
