THE creators of a woodland discovery centre in Sheffield’s Ecclesall Woods have won a prestigious award for the project.
Esh Construction, which built the centre for Sheffield Council last year, scooped the community benefit award for outstanding achievement in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ annual pro-Yorkshire awards.
The centre off Abbey Lane, opened last year and is used for woodland education, training and wedding receptions.
The eco-friendly building was created to promote Sheffield’s ancient woodlands and preserve their heritage.
Ted Talbot, council woodlands manager said: “We’re delighted the work at the Woodland Discovery Centre has been rewarded.”
