Staff at a Sheffield housing repairs company are celebrating after being named considerate contractors.

Two divisions of Kier Sheffield, which runs Sheffield Council’s building maintenance service, have won a gold award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s annual awards – out of only 12 such awards handed out nationwide.

Darren Crouch, Kier Sheffield maintenance manager, said: “We are delighted with the awards which could not have been accomplished without the hard work and commitment from both our repairs team and corporate buildings team.”

Kier Sheffield LLP, which undertakes responsive repairs on Sheffield Council housing, and Kier Sheffield Corporate Buildings, which supports the city’s school’s, public buildings and care homes, were both honoured for the ‘levels of consideration and care shown towards their neighbourhoods, the public, their workforce and the environment’.

Mr Crouch said: “We have received a lot of praise from our customers over the past year as a result of launching a number of initiatives to make it easier for them to report a repair; this is evident in our customer satisfaction level which currently is at its highest.

“Health & safety is also a top priority at Kier, and we are pleased our commitment to this has been acknowledged by the scheme.”

“We look forward to continually improving and evolving our good practices.”
