An annual celebration of all that’s best in our schools is back - and we need your nominations to honour true excellence.

The Star Best in Education awards are back for a second year, and all the region’s schools and colleges are eligible.

With 12 different categories available, the awards are unique is recognising every aspect of school life, from dedicated crossing wardens keeping pupils safe to that dedicated headteacher who regularly goes the extra mile for his youngsters.

We’re looking for nominations - not just from mums, dads and carers, but from pupils, teachers and governors too.

All the winners will be announced at a prestigious lunchtime ceremony to be held at Sheffield’s Mercure St Paul’s Hotel on Monday, July 7.

Categories will see awards for the Best Lunch Person who makes a real contribution to the school meal experience, for the Best Crossing Patrol Person and to the Best Secretary or Admin Assistant.

We’re looking for the Best Teaching Assistant, the Best Teacher and of course the Best Headteacher.

There’s a special award for the Best Green School, another for the Best Nursery and for the Best School or College of the Year.

And finally the Best Sports Team, Most Improved Student and Star Pupil of the Year will all named on the big day.
