Guy Rusling of King Edward VII School Swimming Pool Trust (left), Council Cabinet member Cllr Isobel Bowler and Paul Gibbon of HLW Keeble Hawson signed a new lease for the swimming pool.

A new lease has been secured from the council to keep King Edward VII swimming pool in Clarkehouse Road, Broomhill, in community hands.

King Edward VII Swimming Pool Trust took over the running of the premises 20 years ago. Now it has another 30 years.

The latest lease from the council was arranged with the help of law firm hlw Keeble Hawson, and follows a £400,000 revamp of the pool, including new heating, air handling systems and roof, which will reduce running costs.

Paul Gibbon, hlw Keeble Hawson partner in Sheffield, said: “It’s tremendous to know that future generations can enjoy the pool’s wide-ranging activities.”
