Council thank you to retiring school staff

FIVE retiring education staff with a total of 157 years’ service in Sheffield were formally thanked this week by the council.

Brenda Jarvis, assistant headteacher at Woodhouse West Primary School, is stepping down after 35 years with the authority, and Ecclesfield Primary teacher Kathleen Clark is leaving after 38 years.

Two senior teaching assistants were also thanked yesterday (Wednesday) by the council’s cabinet – Glenda Harrison, of Netherthorpe Primary, for 30 years’ service, and Sandra Staniforth, of Charnock Hall Primary, for 29 years.

Also leaving the council’s children, young people and families section is Joyce Topliss, a clerical officer and senior supervisory assistant at Gleadless Primary, after 25 years with the authority.
