A pop-up shop run by aspiring entrepreneurs has sprung to life in Sheffield’s Winter Garden.
The temporary stall, which sells homeware, clothing and gifts, launched with African drumming and break dance performances, which caught the attention of passers-by.
A group of students who attended a Learn, Create, Sell programme are manning the pop-up shop and sharing their learning experiences with others.
Through the course, the group of unemployed individuals developed creative skills and learnt how to make saleable products on a laser cutting machine.
They were also given the knowledge to help launch a start-up business, and were taught marketing and customer service skills.
Upon completing the educational programme, all participants will gain a nationally recognised certificate in art and design.
The pop-up shop will be open between 9am and 6pm in the Winter Garden until Sunday.
Learn, Create, Sell is a collaboration with Hantu, a Sheffield-based international collaboration platform, and AALFY, a local learning provider, using the facilities at Access Space and the co-working space at Union Street.
