FRISBEE-flinging students from a University of Sheffield sporting team are flying high – after being ranked fourth best in the north of England.
The Phat ’eds – the university’s ‘ultimate frisbee’ team – secured fifth place in division two of the University Mixed Indoor Nationals in Wolverhampton. The result places them 21st in the UK.
The competition saw the team defeat competitors from Southampton, Sussex, East Anglia and Plymouth – but suffer losses against Nottingham, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
Club captain Fearnley Evison said: “I’m pleased with the team’s effort this semester.”
The club will compete in a number of events in the New Year, including the University Women’s Indoor Regionals at Ponds Forge on February 4/5. Spectators welcome.
